Who will win next year?

As much as I want the raptors to win next year, we need to surround Kawhi with a better surrounding cast, maybe try and sign another world class player, thats if kawhi decides to stay this summer. But if those things don’t happen, the raptors will make a good run but i don’t think they’ll win. The golden state warriors will still be golden state if Klay resigns, KD has already declined, but that gives room for Curry and Klay to shine again. The Bucks will still be the same amazing team, with Giannis the MVP who will be even more unstoppable, and started developing a jump-shot at the end of the season. I don’t think they will win but the New Orleans Pelicans have a good shot at making at least the semi finals. With all there new young stars they got in the AD trade, and there New superstar, the most hyped prospect since Lebron James, Zion Williamson. This could be the start of a Dynasty, but for now, with not much playoff experience, and not enough talent yet, to win. The 76ers have a decent chance of winning, they have a good young team (trust the process) with Embiid, and Ben Simmons and they were the closest team to beating the raptors, one clutch Kawhi Leonard shot away. But the teams i think will win next year are The Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks or the 76ers, we can really not tell but for once the east is better than the west in my opinion. If you haven’t seen my blog about the Brooklyn Nets, with the addition of KD and Kyrie they could be the biggest contenders by 2021 when Durant’s not injured. The east is stronger than the west for the first time in ages.

Good and Bad news for Brooklyn fans…

You may already know, but as the recent free agent is completely stacked, teams with high cap room are having a field day. The Brooklyn Nets defiantly had the best free agency as they signed Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, although Kevin Durant is injured, he is probably the best player in the world and he’s not on a max contract. Their is one small problem though, Kevin Durant has mad it very clear he is sick of being second, he has made this very obvious, the reason he left OKC was because he thought his team mate Russel Westbrook was too ball dominant, the reason he has now left Golden State is because it’s steph’s team, he didn’t like that. Although he is probably better than Kyrie, he is again a very ball dominant point guard, and as KD will be out with injury the first season, that’s enough time for Kyrie to become the face of the Brooklyn nets and it will be his team. Them their is the reason why Kyrie left the Cavs, he didn’t want to be in Lebron’s shadow, you can probably connect all the dots hear. Kyrie and KD don’t look like a good pairing, i could be wrong and this is the beginning of a Dynasty, as on paper this is an incredible team, incredible. But I really don’t know if this will work, don’t doubt this team though, this could be a championship team by 2021, and again this gives way more power to the Eastern conference, going back to what i said about the East taking over, the Brooklyn Nets are now Insane.

winners of the 2019 NBA draft.

  1. New Orleans Pelicans, Zion Williamson

An obvious winner of this draft is the New Orleans Pelicans, with the number 1 overall pick, picking Zion Williamson, he is a physical beast standing at 6 foot 8 and weighing 284 pounds with a 40 inch max vertical leap… and he’s only 19. What more can i say about Zion, He’s a future MVP if not a future Hall Of Fame-er.

2. Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant

With the second pick, the Memphis Grizzlies picked Ja Morant, an explosive point guard from Murray State University, and caught the eye of many scouts with his incredible speed and posterising dunks, he also shoots a decent 36 percent from 3p. This would be seen as a win, but the memphis grizzlies already have a decent underrated player thats also i point guard in Mike Conley. If they trade Mike Conley, memphis could turn into a decent playoff team.

3. Rj Barrett

With the third pick, although the Knicks wanted the 1st pick, which they were they were projected to, the still got a class player in RJ Barrett, he isn’t great at any one thing, but he is a great all rounder, a 6 foot 7 inch shooting guard he is a good all round player and has great Mamba mentality… This Kid wants to win, and he does everything he can to win.

4. Bol Bol

Another winner of this recent draft is the Miami Heat drafting Bol Bol in the late 2nd round, although he was supposed to be picked in early first round, he is edging 7 foot 3 and only around 210 pounds. His father Manute Bol, the tallest player ever, had a good long career and broke many blocking records. But again although he was small, he was very skinny, 7 foot 7 and 200 pounds. Bol Bol is a very good centre as he can block shots and rebound. But in the NBA, as he is so skinny, he would get bullied in the paint by people such as Marc Gasol, Demarcus Cousins and Andre Drummond. His good qualities are that he is a decent defender, can shoot, shooting 50 percent from 3 before his injury, and is fast and can dribble, as he played point guard when he was younger, as he went against older taller kids and was forced into this role, but now he’s 7 foot 3, would be the tallest player in the NBA if it wasn’t for the new rookie 7 foot 6 Tacko Fall.

5. Rui Hachimura

Rui Hachimura is a African Japanese player who caught the eye of scouts after his friend for Japan kept on insisting he played basketball, especially after his growth spurt where he grew to 6 foot 8. Growing up Rui loved the USA, because he always watched american TV from Japan, and when he went there, he loved how he wouldn’t be judge because of his race like he would in Japan. My knowledge on him isn’t great but I know he is a beast, weighing 230 pounds, and plays SF and PF, and is a good all round player.

Trade of the Season already?!

The New Orleans pelicans have agreed to a trade for Anthony Davis, there main superstar, who was obviously looking for a way out. This isn’t too bad for New Orleans, as they had the number 1 pick in the 2019, where they drafted one of the best prospects since Lebron James in Zion Williamson. In return, the Lakers offered, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart plus a first round pick next year. Although AD is a world class player, probably the best Big Man in the league, the Lakers lost a lot of good young talent in Brandon Ingram and Lonzo, who are two of their starters, and josh hart their sixth man. This means they’ve got rid of a lot of their depth and youth. But this was a great trade for New Orleans as they have 2 young stars and a new sg, and with the addition of Zion in the summer, Lonzo’s passing and Zions ability to finish at the rim will be deadly, this could make New Orleans a genuine title contender with Jrue Holiday, Julius Randle and with Jahil Okafor having a breakout season, they have a decent centre (wouldn’t hurt to get a new one) This could be a team to watch people! As for the Lakers, Lebron and AD are both great players, both very dominant, but with not much supporting cast, is it possible to thrive? we’ll see…

Who’s the best player in the world?

If you asked me who is the best player in the league at the start of the season, I wold have without a doubt said Lebron, easy. If you asked me at the end of the regular season, I would have probably said Harden or Giannis, due to Lebron’s injuries and failure to make the playoffs with the Lakers. But now that the Raptors have won their first ever NBA title, and Kawhi dominated any player he was put up against on both ends of the floor (including the so called MVP Giannis) Kawhi has proven he is as good as these MVP candidates if not better, as he takes a team which has never seen an NBA finals game, to beating the 2 year reining champions at golden state, and winning finals MVP. Im saying at this very moment Kawhi is the best player in the world, well he was defiantly the best in the playoffs, although all these odds stand in Kawhi’s favour, He did miss over 20 games in the regular season, and defiantly was not as good as Harden or Giannis, I even think Paul George was better in the regular season (Defiantly not in the playoffs) But Kawhi defiantly turned up for the playoffs. But regular season MVP goes to Giannis or Harden, I put my money on Giannis, although Harden’s a great point scorer, Giannis is an all round freak of nature, who is developing a jump shot, and he’s only 24, he is a scary player to come up against and an unstoppable force (not for Kawhi), Giannis has been the best player for the whole season, but i’m going to give it to Kawhi for his incredible playoff run.

Free Agents

this off-season is probably the best ever for teams with a lot of cap room such as the New York Knicks. But not so good for teams losing their best players such as: Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, Kemba Walker and more. With all the players becoming free agents this summer, there could be a massive shift in the NBA, teams like the Knicks (who had the worst record in the NBA) have had links to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, with the addition of RJ Barrett from the recent draft, this could be a title contending team, and have one of the biggest 3s in the league. But this is the caliber of whats happening the so called worst team in the league, could turn into one of, if not the best team in the league. Another upcoming super team is going to be the Los Angeles Lakers. Not only do the have many young upcoming players, such as Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and more, they also have the best player in the NBA (debatable due to his injuries, his failure to make it to the playoffs and how good Harden, Kawhi and Giannis have been playing, thats another story) But they have been in talks with the New Orleans Pelicans with links to Anthony Davis (due to the arrival of Zion Williamson) and depending on what Kawhi does in the free agency, Kawhi has shown that he wants to make a move to LA ,his hometown. But the question is… Will Kawhi leave or not, at the time of writing, the Raptors won the NBA finals last night, as Kawhi become finals MVP, this might be enough to secure a new contract, but we never know with Kawhi, he doesn’t like to show what he’s thinking so often.
